I have an ill-fitting denture. Can you help?

Denture creation is an art that requires precision and attention to detail. Because each patient is different, what may work for one may not work for another. One of the most common complaints about dentures is that they move about the mouth or cause embarrassing moments when eating or speaking. This can make you feel socially isolated and can create painful denture sores that make eating a healthy diet difficult.

When you lose teeth, you also begin to lose bone. Your denture relies on sufficient healthy bone structure to keep your denture stable. When you do not have a thick enough bony ridge, you may find that your denture moves.

Pastes and adhesive gels are only a temporary solution and cannot be used as a long-term solution. When our patients want added stability for their dentures, we can use dental implants as an anchor to stabilize and immobilize your denture.

Placing several strategically located dental implants for your dentures to “lock in” gives patients added confidence in social situations, allows for a healthier diet with a wider range of foods, helps to minimize denture sores, and assists in bone retention.

If you would like to learn more about implant-supported dentures, contact LRK Dental to schedule an evaluation with one of our experienced dentists. We look forward to helping you achieve an improved quality of life with comfortable dentures.
